Bill Bellis

Bill Bellis is a self-taught Haida artist born into the Raven, Wolf, Killer Whale Clan in the village of Tanu. Bill works with many different mediums including silk screen prints, totem poles masks and jewelry. Bill Bellis was an apprentice with Haida Master Carver Bill Reid during the year 1986 to 1987, and in the 1990’s he worked with Parks Canada reinforcing and straightening totem poles. In 2008 Bill Bellis was asked to create two large cedar welcome panels for the city of Skidegate, where he is living and working today. His works of art are featured in many collections around the world.

Bill has recently been working with Black Tail Deer antler and bone to create stunning sculptures and pieces inlaid with abalone.
