Glen Pollard
Glen Pollard was born in 1957 in Haida Gwaii, British Columbia, formerly known as the Queen Charlotte Islands, Canada. He currently resides in Skidegate, located on the southeast coast of Graham Island, the largest island in the Haida Gwaii archipelago.
A self-taught carver, Glen has worked with argillite for over 30 years. He is noted for his inlay work creating small totem poles, pendants and sculptures. His contemporary pieces use simple motifs and are finely executed with elegant form lines. He prefers to carve argillite but has recently begun working with wood and precious metals and enjoys creating three-dimensional sculptural pieces.
His work is found in collections worldwide and in fine galleries along the Pacific Northwest Coast.
