Nelson Cross – The Eagle Fugitive

is a member of the well-known Cross family of Skidegate. Nelson began carving in the early 1970’s. He trained under the famous Gordon Cross.

Nelson assisted Bill Reid with the Loo Taas a 15.2-meter-long red cedar canoe commissioned for Expo 86. He also learned other techniques from Bill Reid. He resides in Skidegate and still carves in silver and gold. He is also known for his vibrant t-shirt art.
