Totem Design Copper 3/4 Length Sleeve By Andy Everson
6% Bamboo, 28% Cotton, 6% Spandex, locally sewn in Vancouver. Hand screen printed in our studio by our totem team with water-based inks.
This design created by Andy Everson, has special significance to the Indigenous peoples of the Pacific Northwest Coast. For our ancestors, copper shields were a symbol of wealth, rank and authority. A part of our commodity system, the selling and purchasing of coppers in our potlatch ceremonies, a copper shield could come to represent great worth. They are still in ceremonial use today, although not as currency.
