Amy is a Haida artist and mother, born in Masset, Haida Gwaii in 1987. She began carving at the age of eight, and shortly after turning 17 she began her commitment to carving argillite full time. She has been mentored by both her father, the late Myles Edgars and artist Patrick Wesley. 

Haida Gwaii has the only argillite quarry in Canada it is located on Slate Chuck Mountain on Graham Island. The Haida own the exclusive rights to use argillite. Amy is one of a few Haida woman who carve argillite.
